Personal Lessons on Zoom

Dave Weckl is offering limited one-on-one drum lessons via Zoom. The lessons are available to players of all ages and levels. Whether you are a newer player, a player who is just getting back to playing, or an active drummer who wants to tune up areas of your playing, Dave’s lessons can be a game-changer.

Setup

Dave asks that all students have a good enough setup that allows him to see and hear your playing clearly. This includes a camera(s), enough light to see hands and feet, and a way to transmit audio clearly. An Ethernet connection is recommended, or at least a very strong WIFI signal.

How Lessons Work

It is important to understand that Dave will be most helpful acting as a "consultant." He will not be available all the time for ongoing lessons, but he can provide you with suggested work that needs to be done.

You can, of course, do multiple lessons with Dave, but his availability will vary. Your time with Dave is best spent by taking his input and working on areas he points out.

Timing

Lessons are billed in 30 minute increments. Ideally, lessons will be a minimum of one hour. 

Dave approaches every student’s needs as an individual analysis. The goal is to both accommodate the student’s wishes for things wanting to be learned, but also to share honest thoughts on what Dave feels the student needs to work on after seeing the student play. All of this can be discussed and a plan can be made.

You can also submit videos (links) of your playing, prior to the lesson (for a small added fee), so lesson time can be more hands-on than evaluation.

You will get a lot out of just one lesson, but you can schedule subsequent lessons if desired.

Cost

Each 30 minute increment will be $125 USD. The minimum for the first lesson will be one full hour, or $225 USD. Subsequent lessons can be agreed upon in advance. A popular choice is the 1.5 hour slot, costing $350 USD.

Prior to your lesson, your payment can be sent through Zelle (if in the USA, and your banks can use Zelle), or PayPal. If you do not have a PayPal account, Dave will send you a link that you can use to pay by credit card.

2. A lesson link that will open your Zoom session
