Buzz Feiten is
one of the world's truly original guitarists. Well known for
his extraordinary skills as an improviser, Buzz has thrilled
audiences and fellow musicians of all schools of playing
with his taste, tone and endless imagination.
Long sought after as a session player since he exploded on
the scene in his late teens in the legendary Paul
Butterfield Blues Band, on his debut album with
Butterfield, 'Keep on Movin', Buzz filled the vacated guitar
seats of blues legends Mike Bloomfield and Elvin Bishop.
Soon the word was out that there was a new voice on the
guitar: right in the middle of the
Hendrix-Clapton-Bloomfield era.
Since then, Buzz has recorded and toured with a wide variety
of artists ranging from Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin to
Bob Dylan and Rickie Lee Jones, as well as co-leading bands
with keyboard artist, Neil Larsen. Their debut album 'Full
Moon' is a much sought after collector's item and one of the
seminal moments in the development of fusion jazz.
A musician's musician, it is not uncommon for keyboard
players, drummers, bassists, horn players, vocalists and
every studio player in town to pack the audience when Buzz
performs live. It's a treat for all to experience unbridled
emotion tempered by extraordinary technique and taste - the
Buzz Feiten hallmark.
With an unrelenting passion for anything having to do with
making the guitar sound and play better, Buzz's laser focus
was eventually trained on the fundamental problem of every
guitar player - tuning and intonation. With the same
commitment and imagination he brings to his guitar playing,
Buzz discovered and developed the ultimate solution to
guitar intonation - The Buzz Feiten Tuning System, a
revolutionary redesign of the intonation method for guitar,
allowing the guitarist to play in tune anywhere on the
fingerboard.
Some of the artists currently using the Buzz Feiten
Tuning System include: Steve Vai, Larry Carlton, Robben
Ford, Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Pete Anderson, Liona Boyd,
"Dimebag" Darrell (Pantera), Mick Mars, Michael Landau, Tim
Pierce, Dean Parks, Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Michael
Thompson, Jeff Miley, The California Guitar Trio, Bobby
Cochran, Stu Hamm, Jimmy Haslip, and many others.
